Hirsutism

Większość dermatologów uważa hirsutism za zaburzenie hormonów wydzielanych z przysadki mózgowej w mózgu lub gruczołów nadnerczy, które wpływają na nerki. Hirsutism jest znajdywany na pewnych guzach powstałych z tych gruczołów. Nadmierne wyrastanie włosów u młodych kobiet, wobec braków innych symptomów, nie jest często spowodowane guzami, ale brakiem równowagi, który nie może być nawet dokładnie określony przez nasze obecne metody biochemiczne.
Hirsutism zaczyna się zwykle we wczesnym życiu dorosłym kobiety. Objawiąja się wyrastaniem włosów na twarzy, brodzie i na podbródku, a następnie nad górną wargą.
Mogą także wyrastać zbyt długie włosy na nogach i rękach, na dolnej części brzucha na klatce piersiowej a także wokół brodawek sutkowych.
